Hoofbeats In Heaven
In Praise Of The Horse

Tribute To The Human/Equine Bond

It's Never Goodbye
Written & Contributed By
Dani Cummings

I sit in the stable where I dwell
With the horse I love so well.
You took my heart away from me,
Now I have to set you free.

I can see the pain in your eyes
And deep inside you want to die.
You cannot walk, you cannot stand
Your heavy head lay in my hands.

I tell you I love you and that I always will
You look at me, then lie so still.
Although you're gone its not goodbye
I kiss your cheek and begin to cry.

Watch over me night and day
And to God for you I'll pray.
I'll pray you are happy up there in Heaven
And send you the angels made of seven.

They'll fly up to you and give you their wings
So you can fly back down to me
And we'll go for a ride in a cloud of dreams
Galloping like you've never seen.

I'll always have memories of you and me together
Like how we rode bareback forever and ever
You'll always be with me in my heart
And I'll think of you as I make a new start.

Just don't forget I love you heaps
And that my heart is forever yours for keeps.

"I love you, Winnie, always and forever."
