I heard in the distance the rumbling thunder
as the clouds lit up with electricity.
I began my usual prayers on my knees,
"Please God, protect my horse and me."
Soon the lightning was flashing all around.
Bolts were striking to the ground.
My pleas increased in intensity,
"Oh please, oh God, Oh God please!"
With torrents of tears on my face now streaming.
God's love came down, intervening.
Opening up my heart's eyes it was then I remembered;
your spirit had rised.
Still Godstruck, in awe, through the lightning and thunder.
My heart a witness to God's power and wonder.
Answered prayers for my love did not come late.
God's answer to me; your love is home safe.
