I wished on every star last night
That time could shift to make things right.
 

That somehow I just had a horrible dream
And nothing separated our valiant team.
 

I dreamed that you hadn’t gone away
That tomorrow we could still run and play.
 

I wished that death wasn’t the end
I wished my heart could solemnly mend.
 

I prayed for a promise that we’d reunite
That in the end everything would be alright.
 

You’d run to me and I to you
We’d be better than before, good as new.
 

A place where age couldn’t cripple and sickness wouldn’t stay
We would be forever together, with nothing in our way.
