Hoofbeats In Heaven
In Praise Of The Horse
Tribute To The Human/Equine Bond
Ode to Seyndason, My Cinderella Horse
Written & Contributed

I looked into your open eyes -
no one but me heard my cries.
I knew the truth straight away -
your gallant spirit had flown away.
A spirit that was still strong and bold -
yet trapped in a body that had become old.
I knew your heart was growing weak -
still, I was not prepared for your final sleep.
Your final sleep thankfully free of pain -
releasing your spirit to run free again.
I wish I could have said goodbye -
but I am glad you did not tarry to see me cry.
As even now I cry for you -
and all the things we used to do.
The things most said you could never do -
most you proved were not beyond you.
