In Praise Of The Horse

Tribute To The Human/Equine Bond

My Horse
Written & Contributed By
Catherine Kijowski

My horse may not have been tall enough to be considered a horse,
but to me she was as tall as the tallest horse.

My horse my not have been the most well trained,
but to me she knew how to do everything.

My horse never won me any ribbons because she never showed,
but to me she won the ribbon of my heart and was my champion.

My horse didn't get to live a very long life,
but to me her short life was perfect to me.

My horse may not have looked the best to others,
but to me she looked like an angel.

My horse was the only horse I have met that had a heart of platinum
and the willingness to always try harder and make me happier.

In her last minutes, she was the strongest and calmest I had seen her.

My horse continued to amaze me and take my breath away
because she was at her most beautiful when she was at her weakest.

My horse looked at me, and I looked at her,
and I fell in love all over again.
