Four-Legged Friend

They share our heart's emotion
Knowing when there's changes
Sensing the way we feel about them
As we know they love us too.

Day in, day out
Here for us, we for them
A bond so tightly made
Friends forever.

As days pass on
Older and slowing
We hurt inside
And just don't know what to do.

A part of you goes with them
Memories engraved deeply
Remember them as once before
