Waves Goodbye

Wow, I guess I should start at the beginning. I had looked months for a horse and then I found Waves on the internet. She was an Appendix, mostly Thoroughbred, a long line of racing in her bloodline and the moment I saw her picture I knew. I went to see her and rode her and she was full of it. She was 12 at the time. I bought her that day and on 10/31/2008 she came to the stable that we would call home.

She would not stand to mount. She was off the track and had a lot of trust issues. After work every day I went for months on and in and worked her in the round pen. Rode her every day and she hopped and skipped like a baby. We worked on creating the ultimate bond. She learned pretty quick that I was her forever home. She was very dependent on me and would whinny when she saw me.

She had some issues health wise in the five years I had her. She was sick six months out of the year. She had feet issues, immune system issues, teeth issues, you name it Waves had it, but it did not matter, we tackled every issue head on together Waves and I. When she was well and feeling good she moved like no other. And when she was ill she was down like no other. I would do it all again for her and not think twice about it. When I had a bad day she was there to pick me up. When she was having a bad day I was there for her. WE made a once in a lifetime team.

On 03/14/2013 Waves became ill once more. Two weeks earlier she had been ill with what they said was a sinus infection and she never recovered fully. I called my vet that morning and he came. We took her to his office and we talked about it and my heart was breaking and I had to let her go. She fought every fight but this one made her tired and I had to do the right thing. It was no longer about what I wanted it was all about what Waves Goodbye wanted and I looked in her eye and kissed her head and told her Goodbye.

I will Always Love you, Waves Goodbye!!!!!

Best Horse Ever!!!!!
