Trixie

May 1, 2002 - September 17, 2012

Trixie was a good pony. In fact one of the best things that ever happened to me! The day I got her I was speechless! But on this day, I could make a river out of my tears.

It all started at 1:15 in the morning when Trixie started pawing. My trainer, Kristen, went out right away to see what was going on. Immediately, she saw something was wrong. She called the vet to come and check her out. In result the vet said she was colicing, had a twisted intestine, and needed surgery to save her but even after the surgery she would never be the same again.

Kristen called one of the barn moms, Brenda Abercrombie, to come with her trailer. Like a good friend, she came over right away with the trailer. By that time, she had been given tons of medicine. My mom, Kristen, and Brenda piled into the car to take her to the hospital. A few minutes later they heard her laying down. The vet said she was just tired. But when they got to the hospital, they opened the trailer and knew right away Trixie had passed away. Everyone started crying and the vet even cut off her tail to give to me to remember her by.

Trixie, you will be in my heart forever.

Your loving mommy,
Taylor Rea (age 10)
