Mississippi Mayhem, or Tom,
was born somewhere around approximately March 9, 1989. A purebred Arab with
four white legs. He possessed a star and a snip that made him the most striking
horse I had ever seen.
As a youngster, Tom was shut
in a stable and starved. His emaciated frame was purchased at auction by
his previous owners. Their motive was just to get him out of that sale. Under
their careful eye, Tom was nursed back to health, but retained a fear of
closed spaces and would eat until he exploded!!
Tom made the journey to
Nottinghamshire on the 18th March 1998. He stood around 14.3hh. He spent
the next two years hacking and attempting the odd Show before having to be
retired 2 years later with DJD of the near fore pastern joint. Tom then spent
the rest of his days playing companion to Taz, my Quarter Horse, a valid
role in itself.
Sadly, Tom passed away on
the 22nd of September 2007, a dear friend so very greatly missed. Free from
pain, he roams free in the biggest pasture he could ever have...
Roam Free, Little Friend.
I miss you. xxx
