With closed eyes I can see him running, with closed eyes I can see him walking, with closed eyes I can see him standing at the gate. There, I hear his soft nickers, happy to see me with his ration, but he has come to the day of quiet, he has come full circle. He suffers no more.
He has gone to a special place where mother earth cradles his body. Until the day we meet again in the new world with the Creator, his memories will always linger in my heart.
He is my horse, Smokey.
