Scooby Doo

My horse Scooby Doo sadly passed 21st December 2010 aged 18 years young.
Scooby has recently been awarded with the PDSA animal bravery and devotion
award in his honour, for his actions which saved my life during july 2008.

Scooby you brought endless joy and warmth into my heart boy, the angels may have took you away but you are ever close in my heart. So many memories I will treasure until I meet you again, the sound of you galloping over to greet me, your kind welcoming eyes and your playful nuzzle.  You saved my life Scooby two years ago, I would not be here without you today, I am forever thankful and will always honour you, Scooby.  My boy, I love you with all my heart and much more than words can describe.  We shared a bond so close, we were one.  We will always be one, Scooby.

I long to see where and what you are doing right now, galloping and showing yourself off, swishing your tail so elegantly and proud.  Running in the lush pastures, rolling in the mud, you always loved that.  Eating all the carrots and ginger biscuits you desire, watching over your herd.  Your herd miss their leader Scoob, but we all know you never really left us.  You are still here in spirit, and your spirit is so, so strong.

You lived your early years as a racehorse, travelling all over the country.  You were passed on from owner to owner, until the day we found each other, you were 15 years old. Love at first sight, we rescued each other.   Full of health you stayed, fresh as a stallion in his prime, you lived life to the full at Bridge Farm where you stayed for three years.  Retired, happy and secure at last. I am so priviledged to have known you and that we made a part in each others lives.  My first horse you were, and we trusted each other with all we could give.  A freak accident took your life, but I can still feel your soul which will live on forever in my heart.

You used to love playing chase, you became a foal again having endless fun.  You were a legend Scooby, the best ones always get struck down.  You're the brightest star in the sky, lighting up the dark.  You're the sunshine in the day bringing all the warmth.

This is not goodbye, we will meet again in dreams and one day in person I can touch you and feel your soft coat again and stare into those lovely soothing eyes of yours and whisper to you, "Come on boy, lets go, we will gallop and gallop together as one.".  You are my guardian, angel boy, watching down on me and on your brother too, Maz, who misses you very much and all of your friends at Bridge farm: Candyfloss, Darious, Pepsi, White magic and little Milton.

Forever loved and honered, all my love for eternity.
