Rosie was a great pony, sweet natured, loyal and
trusting. She taught me a lot whilst growing up and never gave us any
problems. We bought her when she was seven years old and have never looked
back since. She had already had two foals by the time we got her, so from
there on she was used as a show pony, and I must say, she was an extremely
successful one. I remember her vividly, dancing around the show ring, showing
off to anyone who looked her way.
She had an amazing spirit
and truly proved it to us right up until the day she died. For several weeks
before she died, Rosie had been off her food, only lightly picking at
various feeds. Despite this, she was still alert, and shortly before her
death, she appeared to be getting better. We did everything we could
for Rosie, and she thanked us by always being friendly and welcoming
whenever we went to see her. She was a fighter right up until the end,
but on that last day, she finally admitted defeat and looked at us as if
to say, "I've had enough now, I'm ready to go.". We called the vet out, and
he arrived as soon as he could, and she was put to sleep. He said at the
time that she had probably been suffering from a digestive disorder and that
was why she had gone downhill so fast. He also said to us that his horse
had suffered the same fate a few years ago and we had done him proud by doing
everything possible for her.
We miss Rosie a great deal,
but know that she is now in a better place and it was her time to go. We
will always love her and never forget her, as she was one in a million.
Love you lots, Rosie.
