Rivers

On the 20th of February, 2014, our beautiful Rivers was put down with a snapped tendon.

To Our Champion,

You were the grandson of one The Melbourne Cup's most famous winners, Rain Lover, and from the second we got you we knew you were special.

You were a new big brother for Tiffin and then a best friend to Joshy.

You may have been my sisters, but I loved you, and still love you, the same in every way and my heart is breaking.

You were the first big horse I cantered and you always made me feel safe.

I wish I could have been there to say goodbye. But you had your mum and I know she stayed by your side every second.

Thirteen years with you does not seem like long enough...

Josh doesn't understand, he cries for you non-stop and won't leave the side of your grave for an instance. He is the only horse left now and he misses you already. It breaks my heart that I can't comfort him and tell him it's okay. Just explain why his best friend is no longer standing next to him.

Please look over him, my darling. Protect him from the same harm you suffered and let him know it will be okay.

All I can hope is that you and Tiffin are together and I will see you all one day. Until then you will stay in my dreams and in my heart.

I love you so much.

RIP

Love,
Your Aunty Georgia
