Rebel was a great horse that
was taken from me way too soon. He enjoyed playing with his friends out in
the field all day. When I got him and gave him his new friends, he seemed
to become ten years younger. I thought he would live forever, never once
did he slow down.
Too late in his life did he discover the thrills of the hunt. He would hear
the hounds and the horn and knew his job. Even when I told him that the jump
was too big, his heart would grow and he would spread his wings. No jump
was too big for Rebel.
He was taken from me suddenly after a fight with colic, three days before
Christmas. All I wanted was for him to come home for Christmas, and I guess
in a way, he did. He was there, as much as he could be. I miss that handsome
face, and the little nicker, but I will never forget it.
