Puzzle

Puzzle, well. What can I say? You were a stunner. I miss you so much. You taught me almost everything in my advanced lessons. Diagonals, correct and incorrect lead, posting, everything. You even got my confidence up so much, we had a bond.

You would bite everyone...not me. I'd call your name, your ears would shoot up and you would call back to me. You were like the reply to my call, the peanut butter to my jelly...my Ben to my Jerrys.

19th August 2011. A competition called the "Equipton Factor." You were in the crew yard, waiting for the farrier. I went in to take one of the ponies round and I saw you rolling. I panicked and shouted for Danny. Danny ran and got help. Two staff members came round, and one called the vet. One of the other staff members had to walk him to stop him from rolling. The vet came, and said you were refluxing. (It's a condition characterized by the uncontrollable reverse flow of gastric or intestinal fluids into the tube). The only proper way you would get better is if you had colic surgery, which the riding school couldn't afford...

I went to say goodbye to you at about 5 pm. At 8:30 pm on Friday 19th August, you left us. You closed your eyes for one last time and flew to a place where you would feel no such pain.

RIP Puzzle.
