Moscow Summit

Thoroughbred

A Tribute to Moscow Summit

The 'look of an eagle' is an all-seeing look; it is fierce, intent, unwavering, piercing...majestic. The look itself signifies power and greatness.

The phrase "the look of eagles" refers to the far away look in the eye of a great horse, that something, above and beyond the ordinary, that sets a horse apart from the rest of the herd. Many famous Thoroughbreds have had the 'look of eagles'. Moscow had it and then some.

Ears laid back with wrinkled nose, was his bluff,
"Will you pass this test? cause I'm really tough."
Speak gently, the ears then came forward to see,
"Gee, do you have any good treats for me?"

The ultimate School Master, always the teacher was he.
Patience was his most favorite lesson to teach.
So tall and elegant with that long nose in the air,
"Can you reach me now?  Haha, I think you need a chair."

During lessons he'd tattle, which wasn't very fair,
"Do you see? please see what they're doing up there
Look, please look, Don, don't you see?
They're doing it all wrong, it just couldn't be me."

His movements were elegant but yet with a flare.
Riding with him was like dancing on air.
And OH what wonderful gifts he might proffer
Once he thought you were ready, or he just dared offer.

'The Look of Eagles' is always extraordinary
Our friend Moscow was definitely not ordinary.
Yet that look, it was there all along in his wise eyes.
The look that said he longed to run free in the skies.

Now no stall doors will hold him at bay
Now no paddock rails will make him stay.
He can romp and play and have fun in Heaven high
Now he's free to run, as the wind through the sky.

My very special, comical, wonderful and loving friend. I will miss you more than words can e'er express. You'll be in my heart until such time we meet, once again my most wonderful, incredible, true, loving friend.

Terrie Douglas
