In Memoriam
Blazes Miss Bailey

Miss Bailey, today we set you free
All that love you....most of all me
Please run with all your might
Into God's gates and His gentle light

Miss Bailey, today you will ever run free
But all that love you, someday, you will once again see
We will all be so happy to see you....most of all me

I picture you in lush green pastures
Cool breezes blowing through the shade of the trees
Only sweet hay and beautiful horses to see
Everyday we will think of you....most of all me.

Love,
Miss Caren

Miss Bailey was the second horse that  was born on my ranch, The Lone Star Ranch, in Denton, Nebraska. Her dam is Streaking Country Gal (Miss Sally) and her sire is Blaze Skips A Double.  My first foal out of this dam and sire, Miss Bailey's sister,  is still part of my now 6-horse family and her name is Miss Suzy.

Miss Bailey was a regal and majestic horse with a huge heart and had unconditional trust in me.  I will never forget her velvet kisses against my face and I will miss her all the days of my life.  God was so great to give me Miss Bailey and I gave her the best care anyone could.  She was born with a genetic problem--she was unable to properly process carbohydrates and had severe laminitis.  Our extremely talented farrier was able to keep her comfortable for about 6 years with special horseshoes and her equine vet was graciously kind to her always.  God left no question that we had done everything we could do for Miss Bailey.  Her last episode left her unable to walk because of the soreness of her front feet.

Miss Bailey spent every night in the barn stall next to her favorite friend, Mr. Spot, who is a rescued American Quarter Horse. They were the best of friends and no matter what, they were always together--in the pasture and even drinking water.  Mr. Spot looks for Miss Bailey constantly.  My heart breaks for him.

I am very sad and heartbroken, but also glad Miss Bailey has no pain. The joy she brought me is immeasurable as is my enduring love for her.

With all my love,
Miss Caren
