I knew you for longer than
I loved you. I saw you as just another horse in the yard. But one
day I looked at you in a different way, I liked you, but as you
showed your true colours to me, I began to love you.
I remember falling off you when I was 12. You stood on me and winded
me, but I didn't care, it wasn't your fault. We leapt down that huge
hill in the trees last year, but you caught me at the bottom. You always
helped me when I needed you. I used to stroke your neck and whisper,
"Trusting moment, Tilly.". Then we were the strongest pair on the ride, we
could do anything.
I found the longer we were together, the more I loved you. I spent
every last penny on bread and apples for you. I would give anything for you
to be happy.
I am sorry for asking you to hang on for me in those last few days.
I wanted so much for you to be ok. Then that morning, you looked me in the
eye and you told me you had had enough. You asked me to send you to
Heaven, and those hours I spent with you on that awful day I told you
not to worry, it would all be over soon. I hope you are in the place I told
you about, in the field bigger than the sky, and the cool lake in the middle
for you all to drink from. I hope that white stallion on the hill gave
you the welcome you deserve.
Was I wrong to leave you
in those final minutes? I know you understood why that man had come and I
hope your passing was as quick and as painless as I promised it would be.
I still cry for you. I miss you so much. When you flew past me and went to
Heaven, yu took a huge chunk of my heart. Keep it safe until we meet again,
baby girley.
A poem
written by a friend:
Tilly was an angel,
Sent from Heaven above,
She came for many years,
To share some of her love.
But life doesn't last
forever,
As sad as it may be,
But one thing's for sure,
You'll never stop loving me.
One day we will meet,
Way up in the sky,
But until that day comes,
I must say Goodbye...
Night night, Princess. We will
be together again one day. Then I will never leave you again, we can be together
for eternity.
