Sweet Louie

April 11, 1999 - January 15, 2011

I bought Louie when I was only 12, and he was only 7. He was my first horse. When we got him, he needed a lot of love. As a green horse, and me as a green rider, we were doubted on numerous occasions. Over the past 5 years though, he and I developed such a trust, a bond like really none other.

He was definitely the quirkiest horse at the barn. He answered questions with a simple head bob, and gave kisses to everyone. He loved to splash in puddles and took care of my mother, who rode him sometimes.

We won many championships in the hunter/equitation ring, but then we finally figured out what his gig was. Jumpers. I could tell that he loved it, he would always smile! He amazed everyone who watched us both grow, and enchanted people on his journey on this earth. He really did touch everyone he met, and he definitely left a mark on everyones' hearts.

Lou, you were found one morning, and you had already gone. No one will ever know how it happened, but all we can say is that you had your big old grin on your face when I took one last look at you.

You taught me more than just how to ride, you taught me how to be me. I am eternally thankful, Louie. Ride the sky with Legacy, big boy.
