I can still remember the
first time I saw you. You were nothing but a starved little pony. Even
though you were shabby and dirty, I knew that we were meant to be together.
We took you home, fed, nurtured, and loved you. Within a couple of weeks
you started "feeling your oats" and the traininng begun.
As a seven year old, I was the only one small enough to ride you. So the
training was done all by me. But to say that I taught you would never be
right. We taught each other. I taught you to be a gentleman and you taught
me to hang on, with your random bucking sprees that always sent me falling
through the air. Unlike me, though, you always had a good sense
of humor about it. Instead of running off, you'd stop and look at me as though
you were asking why in the heck I was on the ground. You taught
me everything I ever needed to know & never stopped filling me with wisdom.
Even after 7 years of riding you and thinking I had it all under contral,
you still showed me up by sending me halfway across the yard.
You were my baby boy and
you will forever stay that way. I loved you more then you could ever imagine
and I know you loved me right back. Even though I think you left
me too soon, I find peace in knowing that you are free and happy and that
you can gallop forever and ever.
You were the best thing in my life. You were perfect in every way. I love
you so much and never, ever will stop. Thank you for teaching me so much
and taking care of me for the past seven years. Always remember that no matter
what, you'll always by my baby boy.
I'll listen for your hoofbeats
in heaven.
Love you,
Your Mom...Bethany
