Kanella,
Although I only had the
privilege of owning you for 3 years, you were my very first Arabian and you
introduced me to the wonderful sensitivity and intelligence of your
breed. We had many good times together and you
were always there for me when I needed a friend - you always
knew when I was down because you would softly nicker and lay your head on
my shoulder and somehow all my problems would just melt away.
I will miss your silly whinny, your sweet spirit and the way
you patiently allowed the kids at the barn to brush your
gorgeous mane and tail. You were my very best friend in the world
and you fought so hard in the end, but I am comforted that you are no longer
in pain. I am grateful that I was there at the moment you got
sick and grateful to our vet for coming so quickly and making sure you suffered
as little as possible.
I know I will never be able to match the bond that we shared
and I am honored to have been a part of your life. Til we meet
again, my friend - may you graze in grass that is belly high and
sleep peacefully under the stars of a moonlit sky.
