Please include this memorial
of one of the most fantastic horses that I will ever have the great fortune
to own. He came to me just over a month ago as an ex-racehorse that had run
on the track the weekend before I got him. I began to work with him and became
so close to his physical beauty and his amazing temperament. Although
I have had my eight other horses for longer, Jet was as much part of
the family as any of the others and will always be remembered as such.
He contracted tetanus despite being vaccinated in one of the most unlucky
rare cases around. So began the struggle to keep him alive
and I stayed with him day and night following diagnosis. He had the most
amazing team of people caring for him and willing him on so strongly and
we were told yesterday that he probably would be fine. Unfortunately, this
was not the case, and at 5:40 this morning, so began the hardest struggle
of our lives that culminated in him losing his.
He was so precious and will never ever be forgotten or replaced in any
way and I hope wherever he is, he knows I am always thinking of him. So little
time, such a magnificent horse.
