Java Bean

Appaloosa gelding
January 1, 1992 - March 30, 2011

Java was my equine soul mate. I knew the first time I met him that he was special. I was looking for a steady trail horse for my Grandaughter and Java came home to live with me. As with all teenagers, other things got in her way and Java was no longer hers, but became mine. I was the lucky one. He was the one who greeted me at the gate, nickered at me whenever he saw me, even if it wasn't time to eat, although he wished it was.

Java and I rode the trails in many different counties and did local parades. He took me places I never would have seen on my own and taught me how to trust, not only in him, but myself.

He was never sick a day in his life, until that last day and to have to make that decision was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

Java loved the camera, most of the time, other times he would look so proud and then you'd notice his tongue was sticking out. The hole in my heart will never close, but I can smile when I see him with that tongue.

I will miss him each and every day for the rest of my life.
