Henry

Appendix Quarter Horse

Died on September 27, 2007

Henry, you were with us such a short time, but you had already become a big part of our lives. It was such a pleasure to spend time with you, brushing, petting, feeding and all of that other horse stuff. You brought me back to the power horse energy. Something I will be eternally grateful for.

I knew the day that you came to live with us that you may not be here long. And I told myself that even if I was just providing you with a happy home for your last days,  I would be happy. I just didn't think that it would be so soon. I hope that we did right by you, Henry. We did the very best that we knew how.

You died on a beautiful, foggy, moonlit night. I will always remember stroking your face and whispering in your ear. You were a very handsome old man, Henry. You were with us for such a short time, but you will always be in our hearts.

I hope you have found the vast, open country that belongs to beloved horses. A place where you are never cold, hungry or weary, but where you always know the freedom and peace that belongs only to a horse.

You were loved and you will be missed, my horse. Rest in Peace.

Love,
David & Dina
