Ferris, even though we only
had a short 18 months together, I felt more connected to you than any horse
I've ever had. I know every inch of your beautiful chestnut body from the
swirl on the right side of your neck to the tiny scar on your back pastern.
I will never forget how proud I was when we first rode together, when we
entered our first (and only) show, and when everyone told me how beautiful
you were. I will cherish every single moment we spent together; our challenges,
our triumphs, and even our final parting.
I don't know why you had to leave me so soon, but know that I wouldn't have
traded our time for anything. You will forever be emblazoned in my heart.
I miss you now and always.
