My name is Ashley ReVae Godwin and I lost my great beloved American Quarter
Horse, My Red Hot Truck-aka-"ELVIS" on January 22, 2004. He was born March
21,1998. He would have been six years old.
Belonging to National Barrel Horse Association, my Granddad, nominated Elvis
for The Best of America's Horse at the World Championships held in Augusta,
Georgia in November, 2003. Elvis won us a World Championship horse
trailer, saddle, and my Granddad won the Senior 3-D
Championship and Elvis won 'Best of America's Horse'.
Elvis and I won NBHA Florida District 10 for the year 2003. He
won me a saddle and the week before he died, I won a buckle in rodeo competition.
This is only a few of his winning feats and this is my tribute to
Elvis.
Elvis was a horse you could
just tell he was "special". He had a way that was unique from all the rest.
I think he ran hard "just for me". I could not have had the great experiences
and fun without him, I was truly blessed and lucky to have had him as long
as I did. Sometimes I think, I was just fortunate to have a winner like
"Elvis".The Lord knows and He worked it out, somehow. It seems Elvis tried
his hardest this year for me and my family. I know the Lord knew that
it was in His plan, but yet I wonder if Elvis did too. He was quite a horse
and I won't and will never FORGET!
I love you Elvis, I hope to see you again one day in that perfectly
green grass under that nice warm sun where everything will be perfect. That's
what I call HEAVEN, I know I will see you there.
Elvis died in surgery due
to severe colic on January 22, 2004.
Elvis, you may be gone from
our presence, but your spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Ashley
In January 2005, we lost
another great horse, Six Pack of Cash, aka Bud. Bud has a memorial tribute here.
