DeeDee was more than a horse
to us. She was our very best friend. We have never met a more mild-mannered,
well-behaved horse. We never used a lead rope on her, because she would just
walk right beside us. She'd let us do just about anything with her (like
dressing her up for the holidays) and still give us kisses and rubs with
her nose. She loved her treats and would whinney until she got them. She
even loved to sip at our Pepsi and would suck on her tongue, long after she
had eaten her peppermint candy. DeeDee loved to trot over poles and could
do all kinds of little tricks. Believe us, she knew she was the "princess"
at the barn!!
Sadly, we had to say good-bye to our DeeDee, when she lost the use of her
back legs and could no longer stand. She tried so hard to please us and stand
once more, but her legs just wouldn't cooperate. With her family surrounding
her, our vet gave DeeDee the injection that sent her to her eternal meadow
of green grass and sunshine. We will always love her and can't wait until
we are reunited with her again.
