We are two sisters who are
totally opposite except we have one thing in common, our love for our horse.
Dandy Bar was a dream come true. He filled our childhood through adulthood
with lifetime experiences and memories that will be treasured. Dandy Bar
in our lives made this world a better place. The journey through life with
Dandy Bar was a learning experience that taught us to cope with our challenges
with courage, ambition, tolerance, obligation, patience, willingness, hope,
hardship, laughter and responsibility. Who we have become today is because
of Dandy Bar. He made us outshine others and develop wisdom.
Our favorite memory of Dandy
Bar would be going to the pasture and calling out his name. He then would
pick up his head from grazing, look around to find us while nickering with
all this excitement like he hasn't seen us in days (meanwhile, every day
he saw us ). That was his way of telling all the other horses that his owners
were here. He would trot or canter over, still nickering until he reached
us.
Our days would be filled with unconditional love; he was spoiled by two
sisters brushing him until his coat would shine through, socks would be the
whitest they could be, the cleanest horse around that smelled so good and
looked so handsome. All the fun baths, walks off the property, making sure
he was covered with fly spray every night in the summer, and just lounging
around in our beach chairs enjoying our picnics while he was trying to eat
what we were having, spoiling him with treats, lots of hugs and kisses. When
the day would be coming to an end, we would walk back to the pasture singing,
"You are MY Sunshine, My Only Sunshine" and tell him how special he was.
Opening the gate to the pasture, he would make sure he touched all the horses
so they knew he was back. Watching him graze with the sunset just makes
everything that comes with owning a horse till his retirement well worth
it.
The saddest day in our
lives was when Dandy Bar left this world. He was surrounded by family who
loved him and from our arms we released him to the arms of the angels. Dearest
Dandy Bar, your soul and spirt was so strong, kind-hearted, and full of life.
You have touched so many. We will miss you dearly. When it's our time, we
will find you again. Your magic and special properties fulfilled us. Thank
you for the wonderful ride. We will never let go! GALLOP
ON!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Lisa & Stacie
