Wow, it was my dream horse. my beauty, my baby! At age 14, my mom
bought her for me and that night she arrived at my house. I rode her, I loved
her, she was there forever in my heart. I bathed her, groomed her, gave her
little extras...fell asleep with her in the field between her front legs!
She was my best friend and still is!
The day we found out she had cancer...melonomas to be exact...I
bawled...I was so mad at God for doing this to me. Why was he going to make
her go?! Well, they spread from her tail and dock to her neck and head. For
a long time she was deaf in her left ear and then one day came...I wanted
my friend to ride...she had rode before and Little Girl is just that
kind of horse...anyone can ride her...a 3 year old kid rode her bareback..
I rode her bareback, she treated me like a foal in the field, never stepping
on me at all. Well, anyway, my friend got on her to ride and everything was
well until we got on the dirt trail in the woods.. Something happened I won't
ever forget...she had her first seizure. Luckily she reared straight
up and did not fall backwards, but instead started bucking...my friend was
dislodged from the saddle cleanly and was not hurt bad..a bruise
and a sprained arm. Little Girl walked up the hill, eyes glazed and foaming
at the mouth. I got her and rode her and she tried the same thing...mom being
a very experienced rider did not get dislodged and then she dismounted, checking
the saddle to see why she would have done that...no reason. Then we understood
why.
She is retired now and soon we must take her to the vet and get her put down.
She will always be in my heart and no one can take her out of it!!
