Bubba is an Arabian X Quarter
horse. He was my first horse. I truly loved him.
This horse had so much heart.
He loved to play jokes on other people. Always making faces. I remember one
day when he wanted to just goof around. My son was getting him out of his
stall and my son left the door open a little while he went to get a carrot.
He didn't bother to tell anyone so Bubba, being Bubba, walked right out his
door and ran in circles. He went down the aisle out the one door and around
the building he went coming in the other. I would swear he was laughing.
I had to try to contain myself, once I did I said "Bub, that is
enough!". He tried me one more time, then I
opened his door and said "Get in there!". That is what he did.
It wasn't too long after that that Bubba started acting up. Rearing and
bucking when I would get on him. I knew my horse, I knew something was wrong.
I had a vet out three times. Each time they said it was in my head. One week
after having the vet out for the last time, Bubba started having grand mal
seizures. I had to put my horse down whom I loved with all my heart. People
used to stop and say, "I have never seen a horse so infatuated with their
owner".
Dear Bubba,
My Arabian Knight, I must
say good night until we meet again. I know you will be looking over me. There
will never be a day that goes by that I don't think of you.
I have wrote
a story about you that now rests in the ground with you.
You were the best
dressage horse. It amazed me how you learned the routines after one time.
I felt safe with you, now I have to go on without you.
Trust me
when I say, "One day we will meet again. Go run with the horses and ponies
like you have never run before."
Love,
Jen
