Betta Jetta was my best friend, we really did share a special bond. I rescued him in 1998 from a bad home and took him to my home. We developed such a bond, and he truly loved me and showed me how much he loved me all the time.
He was a talented athlete and we competed and won many show jumping competitions. I shared what feels a life time of the best memories with him, and he taught many personal life lessons that I carry with me today. He was very, very intelligent, and showed emotion.
I believe I gave him a good life and he knew it, he had a best friend (my other horse, who I also rescued) and I could not separate them. They went everywhere together. Above all, I respected my horse and I honored him.
Sadly, he caught a virus that attacked his lungs and I had no option but to let him go to heaven. My life will never be the same and I long for him. The only consolation I have is that he lived a very fulfilled good life, we were true kindred spirits.
