Applejack

Morgan cross
Strawberry roan
1977 - 2011

I have had this amazing horse since I was seven. I rode every chance I got and he always took care of me. We went on many adventures together and I always thought he was going to live forever.

This year, his age was really starting to show, he was not getting any winter hair and he stopped eating. It was either let him suffer or put him down. I feel guilty, but I couldn't be there when it happened, it was like losing a member of my family. I was blessed enough, that both of my daughters got the chance to know him and love him. I guess you could say he was a lucky horse, being loved by three little girls in his lifetime. He was the best kids horse to ever live, and there will never be another horse like him.

"You took me to adventure and to love. We two have shared great joy and great sorrow. And now I stand at the gate of an empty pasture, my old friend laid to rest in a field full of memories. Most would consider you lucky, for you knew the love of three little girls. And every horse deserves, at least once in their life, to be loved by a little girl…I will miss you always"

With love,
Tara "Little Sister"
